In the quiet countryside of Carovigno, this villa is more than a holiday home — it is an artistic statement. Pesce is a designer, artist, and radical thinker who has spent over five decades pushing the boundaries of what architecture and design can be — and what they should feel like. Elements inspired by the neighboring designs of Gaetano Pesce are everywhere: bathrooms where buckets become sinks, light used as a material in itself, and spaces that surprise in their playfulness. The result is a villa that feels alive — tactile, imaginative, and deeply connected to its setting.
It is an invitation to slow down, feel more, and live a little closer to the ground.

The Space
The estate is a dialogue between old and new: a centuries-old trullo and lamia form its historic core, while two modern buildings frame a central courtyard. Whitewashed walls, painted with oversized birds, give the traditional architecture a surreal, contemporary lift.
The bedrooms are designed in deep, grounding tones, a nod to the way people once lived and worked on the land — retreating to their rooms to rest in cool darkness after a day under the sun, and allowing the senses to reset. When you step out of these intimate spaces, the contrast is striking: the bright courtyard, the whitewashed walls, and the surrounding olive groves welcome you with a sense of lightness and freedom. This interplay between shadow and sunlight, interior and nature, heightens every experience, making each return to the outdoors feel profoundly alive.
Bedrooms
The villa accommodates up to 6 guests in three ensuite bedrooms:
Master Bedroom (lamia): King bed, panoramic bathroom with glass walls framing the olive groves, privacy screens available.
Second Bedroom (modern wing): Double bed, ensuite, direct outdoor access.
Third Bedroom (modern wing): Twin beds (convertible to double), ensuite, lounge corner.
The historic trullo has been reimagined as a cool lounge space, perfect for retreating during hot afternoons.
*As the bedrooms are accessed from the outside, the villa may be less convenient for families with very young children, who may require closer supervision
**This is a summer house in every sense of the word and therefor there is no indoor dining room, but instead dinner under the stars
Outdoor Area
The villa is anchored by its long swimming pool, edged by olive groves and open sky. Some days are spent here entirely — swimming, stretching out in the sun, and moving between shaded terraces and the rooftop at different hours of the day. At night, the pool becomes a mirror for the stars, and the silence of the countryside feels almost cinematic.
The villa’s design doesn’t try to dominate the landscape — a terrace for breakfast, the courtyard for long dinners, the rooftop for sunset drinks. Every outdoor space has its own rhythm, its own way of slowing you down.
The Environment
The villa lies just outside Carovigno, a small town of whitewashed alleys and evening cafés, but its real appeal is the coast. In under fifteen minutes you reach the sandy beaches and turquoise waters of Torre Santa Sabina, perfect for early-morning swims or long afternoons in the sun. A little further, the Torre Guaceto reserve offers wide, untouched stretches of sand where the sea is impossibly clear and shallow — the kind of place where you walk straight from the dunes into the clear blue water.
For evenings out, Ostuni and Carovigno have a quiet elegance: piazzas where families stroll after dinner, simple trattorias serving local seafood and wine. The balance here is what makes it special — days by the sea, nights in towns that still move to a southern Italian rhythm, and a villa that always pulls you gently back to its calm.
