N° 089 | Mountain Farm house
An old mountain farmhouse in the Valle dei Molini, in the Dolomites, South Tyrol. It is in perfect harmony with the present day. A sanctuary situated at an altitude of 1,300 metres above sea level. So high up that you can fully wind down, and so secluded that you can truly reconnect with yourself. Old walls and wood which is brimming with tales from the past three centuries. Discover this hidden gem way up high in the mountains.
Catch a glimpse of over 200 years of life gone by as you gaze out into the valley. Many of the original features have been preserved, but new ones have also been seamlessly incorporated, adding a stylish touch. It’s the blending of old and new – of local handicrafts and modern design – that makes this place so special. Examples of these include natural materials, art prints by the South Tyrolean artist Theresa Künig and designer furniture by Das Ganze Leben, a local business that shares our philosophy of sustainability and simplicity.
The Space
There are four comfortable bedrooms: two with double beds, and two with single beds. A wood-panelled parlour room with farm oven, a fireplace room for reading and snoozing, a fully equipped, modern kitchen with wood-burning stove, a bathroom and an additional separate toilet. A tranquil haven in the heart of the natural world, featuring a garden with a large dining area for warm summer evenings, and yet another place you’ll love spending time in: the barrel sauna in the garden, complete with outdoor shower and view of the mountains.
The Surroundings
The farmhouse is in a secluded location just a few minutes by car from shops and restaurants, a truly private getaway. Listen to the sounds of the natural world, count the stars in the night sky and simply enjoy being offline. If you’re looking for a world of tranquillity, then you’re in the right place. The soundtrack to your holiday is a calming composition of birdsong and the cosy crackling of the wood fire. And don’t forget to give your eyes a good rest, too; drink in the breathtaking views of the natural world by day and look up at the sky above you as night falls. This idyllic retreat is so high up that artificial light won’t interfere with your stargazing.
It is also the ideal location for outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing or cycling in the Rieserferner-Ahrn and Zillertal Alps Nature Parks, as well as the Mühlwalder Valley.
Extra Services
Fresh mountain air, glistening morning dew and a yoga mat. Sounds like the perfect way to start the day, doesn’t it? They offer the exclusive possibility of private yoga classes with the owner, Petra – available for early risers and for those of you who prefer a lazy start to the day...
The owners also have a wealth of local insiders tips: they share with you their favourite places, interesting people and projects, restaurants with great food concepts and must-do things!
Spring & Autumn
It is so very cosy in the cooler months in spring and autumn as well. Just like in the olden days, there is no stationary heating in the house. The wood-burning stove in the kitchen and the traditional farm oven in the parlour room, to keep it warm and cosy. During the day hiking in the mountains and at the end of the day, with a book and a glass of wine in front of the wood-burning stove. Perfection!
