N° 093 | Little Gem near Rome
This charming house is a dream home for two people, designed in perfect harmony with nature. Surrounded by the typical beauty of the Sabine hills, it offers views over olive groves and rolling fields. Butterflies flutter around, and birds skim through the valley, with the hoopoe and bee-eater as regular guests in the garden.
You can hear the silence around you. Relax in the private pool, surrounded by oleanders and pomegranate trees. For lunch and dinner, take a seat in the shade under the acacia tree or the pergola.
Indulge in a dinner prepared by the private chef, or cook your own meals in the luxuriously equipped kitchen with ingredients from the vegetable and herb gardens.
The design of the house, with its old natural stone exterior walls, is continued inside with terracotta floor tiles and beamed ceilings. The charm of the old materials enhances the beauty of the interior with Italian design furniture.

Location
The villa is located in the heart of the hilly Sabina. Time seems to have stood still here. It is an undiscovered part of Italy. The Sabine landscape is characterized by the many castles on hilltops. The rich historical and cultural heritage is evident in the architecture, decorations, and frescoes. Near the castles, you will find medieval villages known for their architectural value (Tarano, Montasola, Casperia, Roccantica, Collevecchio). Traces of ancient culture can also be found in the numerous Franciscan sanctuaries, so much so that this area is called the 'Second Home of Francis'. Equally noteworthy are the abbeys and monasteries, particularly the 'Abbazia di Farfa' and the 'Santuario di Vescovio', which are worth a visit.
All possible amenities are available in the nearby area. Three kilometers away is the village of Borgonuovo. Here you can go for daily groceries, there is a supermarket, a butcher, a baker, a pharmacy, and a bar. Every fourth Sunday of the month there is a market. In Forano, there is a large Conad supermarket that is open every day from 8:00 to 20:00.
History
Sabina is a region in Lazio, northeast of Rome. It is named after the Sabines, an ancient people who lived there before the founding of Rome. The legend of the Rape of the Sabine Women is well-known. The Romans are said to have abducted Sabine women to populate their new city. Many Sabine deities and cults developed in Rome, and many parts of the city, such as the Quirinal, were once Sabine.
