Near the castles, you will find medieval villages known for their architectural value (Tarano, Montasola, Casperia, Roccantica, Collevecchio). Traces of ancient culture can also be found in the numerous Franciscan sanctuaries, so much so that this area is called the 'Second Home of Francis'. Equally noteworthy are the abbeys and monasteries, particularly the 'Abbazia di Farfa' and the 'Santuario di Vescovio', which are worth a visit.
All possible amenities are available in the nearby area. Three kilometers away is the village of Borgonuovo. Here you can go for daily groceries, there is a supermarket, a butcher, a baker, a pharmacy, and a bar. Every fourth Sunday of the month there is a market. In Forano, there is a large Conad supermarket that is open every day from 8:00 to 20:00.
