A small-scale luxurious gem, tucked inside the historic center of a village where the popes used to holiday. It is a tiny Renaissance jewel of a village in southern Tuscany. The building is a rambling Renaissance-era palazzo where nuns have lived for over 500 years.

Tuscany, of course, has a lot to offer. Its countryside is famously beautiful. Its cities hold countless artistic treasures. But this  Townhouse highlights one of Tuscany’s attractions that is often overlooked: the sweetness of village life.

With its main door on a cobblestone lane, the property itself blends in completely with the Renaissance character of the rest of the village, its façade indistinguishable from the attached buildings. No exterior changes were made in the renovation, and not a single square meter of space was added.

Rather than drop a new formal hotel into an old town, we aimed to create a comfortable, fun, and stylish place to relax, eat well, and get caught up in the daily rhythms of everyday life here: the stillness of the main piazza in the morning, the old ladies making their daily shopping trail, and the evening hum of bustling trattorias.

The Restaurant 

Eating well in Tuscany shouldn’t be hard, and it shouldn’t ever be complicated. Easy daily access to some of the freshest and most delicious ingredients in the world, and they believe a chef should shop and speak with diners every day. The small in-house restaurant and wine bar with an open kitchen for guests to have direct interaction with the chef while he is working. There is an intimate covered outdoor seating area inside the walled medieval garden.

Mini spa (with steam bath and hot tub), library, DVD/CD selection, vast vinyl collection and concierge service. In rooms: flatscreen TV, free WiFi, Ortigia toiletries, free bottled water in the minibar. The suites have a flatscreen TV and coffee machine.

Superior Double Room: The triple room is furnished with a desk and a seating area. The unit has 1 large double- bed and 1 sofa bed.

Junior Suite: The Suite is furnished with 1 large double- bed and 2 sofa beds.
