A Stylish Toast to the Holidays: The Glamorous Negroni Affair

In the days leading up to Christmas, when the world adorned itself in shimmering lights and festive cheer, there's no better time to elevate your celebration with a touch of Italian elegance.  When living in Rome, I always felt that in Italy, elegance is the only dress code and there existed a secret rendezvous known to the chic and stylish. Here, the Negroni held court—a timeless elixir that transcended trends and whispered tales of sophistication.

Why the Negroni?

  • A Taste of Italy: The Negroni is a sip of Italy in a glass, transporting you to the cobblestone streets of Rome
  • Elegance in a Coupe: Serve it in a chilled coupe glass, adding a touch of vintage glamour to your festive affair.
  • Citrusy Finale: The orange twist garnish provides a citrusy crescendo, a perfect complement to the merry melodies of the season.

Indulge in the enchantment of the season, and may your Christmas be as timeless and elegant as the Negroni itself.

The Glamourous Negroni Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Gin
  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • Orange Twist (for garnish)

Instructions:

Prepare the Glass: Chill a vintage coupe glass, adding a touch of glam to the ritual.

The Gin Entrée: Begin with 1 oz of your favorite premium gin. Pour it into the glass.

Campari Crescendo: Follow with 1 oz of Campari, the scarlet soul of the affair. The bitter-sweet harmony begins to take shape.

Vermouth Elegance: Complete the trio with 1 oz of sweet vermouth.

The Stirring Sonata: Gently stir the concoction with ice, letting the flavours waltz and mingle.

Strain and Garnish: Strain the elixir into the chilled coupe glass, where it awaits its crowning glory. Express a sliver of orange zest over the cocktail, releasing its aromatic oils to create a captivating finale.

As the glass clinked against the marble tabletop, the Negroni revealed its secrets—a taste that transcended time and an experience that lingered in the corridors of glamour.

Cheers,

Shari
