N° 018 | A Charming Residence
In Salina, the green heart of the Aeolian Islands, the Greek Dydime is lush with centuries-old woods and heroic vineyards, This stunning Pallazzo offers hospitality in a charming residence with a garden that belonged to a 19th-century family of landowners and sea masters. In the South facing hillside, pierced by the fierce sun that makes you squint, the fresh and ancient peace of its walls gives relief to the traveler fascinated by the Mediterranean metaphysics of these islands sculpted by wind and fire
Luca Giannini is an Italian artist and owner of the Pallazzo, where this charming residence is located. Luca is very passionate about this project he started in 2017; to give new life to abandoned places, to listen to their souls, and intervene with respect and balance. To harmonize bio-architecture, design, and contemporary art with original features and local materials. It is more than a project, it is a vision Lucca has been pursuing his entire life.
“ART AND TRAVELING SHARE THE VALUE OF DISCOVERING BEAUTY”.
The Space
In the quiet village of Leni, an old door peeling from time and salt leads to a silent fenced garden, pervaded by the scent of jasmine, on which the three levels of the nineteenth-century building face: the ground floor, once occupied by the wine millstone and the warehouse of the island’s merchandise, is divided into two separate units. This beautifully renovated apartment is located here, accommodating up to 2 + 1 guests respectively, and overlooks a small porch where you can relax on hot summer days among lemon trees, flowers, and Mediterranean essences.
A spiral staircase leads to the wonderful rooftop terrace, where, protected by the ancient mass of the Church of San Giuseppe, you can admire the marine horizon and the verdant profile of the twin volcanos of the island while tasting a glass of Malvasia and waiting for the sunset and the rise of the early stars.
To let you experience the atmosphere, nature, and the *enograstronomic traditions of Salina and the Aeolian Islands as the seasons change, the Pallazzo is open all year round: the three units can be rented individually, sharing the solarium terrace and the garden, or you can reserve the whole Palazzo for up to 12 guests for exclusive use, as an ideal location for groups of friends or families, celebrative events, business meetings, workshops or for those who simply aspire to enjoy top privacy during their stay.
*Enogastronomic traditions refer to the cultural practices, customs, and rituals related to food and wine in a specific region or community. It encompasses the traditional methods of food preparation, cooking techniques, ingredients, recipes, and the pairing of food with local wines or beverages. Enogastronomic traditions celebrate the unique flavors, culinary heritage, and agricultural practices of a particular place, reflecting the local culture, history, and identity. It often involves the preservation and promotion of traditional dishes, local ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques, creating a strong connection between food, wine, and the cultural heritage of a region.

The Surroundings
The Aeolian Islands: The seven pearls of the Tyrrhenian Sea
YOU COULD SEE SALINA, THE ISLAND OF THE TWIN MOUNTAINS, SURROUNDED BY A SEA FULL OF FOAM, OVER WHICH APPEARED HOVERED GALLEYS…
~ GIUSEPPE TOMASI DI LAMPEDUSA
The Aeolian islands of sun, sea, and fire. Islands in the current of emotions that from the blue of the horizon intertwine with the deep black of the lava stone, the vibrant silver of absinthe, and the sumptuous white of caper flowers. A necklace of seven precious pearls that emerge from the pelagic depths, each giving a unique and distinct emotion:
Salina, with its genuine spirit, green with woods, Malvasia vineyards, and caper plants, is an island for connoisseurs and due to its centrality is the ideal base to explore the archipelago
Lipari, the most populated and hub of all the routes, enchants with its castle perched on the cliffs, its jagged landscapes, and its pumice quarries
Vulcano, the mythic dwelling of Hephaestus and the Cyclops seething with magmatic energy attracts geology enthusiasts and thermal mud lovers
Panarea, with an almost Cycladic brightness, is the glamour venue of the Aeolian Islands
Stromboli, home of Aeolus, seduces and frightens with the fiery nature of Iddu, as the locals call its majestic volcano
Filicudi, with a radical-chic character, spreads the magnetism of its wild soul
Alicudi is the extreme refuge for meditative travelers seeking the unspoiled Mediterranean solitude
