Enoteca COS vineyard
Three friends founded Azienda Agricola COS in 1980: Giambattista Cilia, Cirino Strano and Giusto Occhipinti. The acronym of their last names is where the name for the winery – COS – comes from. Located at the farthest tip of South Eastern Sicily: The taste of Africa jumps out at you not just from the various architectural ruins but also more importantly from the vegetation: olive, carob and almond trees and vines abound. The climate as well recalls Africa with its red, ochre and yellow tones.

In the countryside south of Noto, in the most southern tip of Sicily, there is an aerea of calcareous soil called Buonivini (good wines). Here, for four generations, our family has listened to the earth and cultivated it. We take care of the biodiversity, we use renewable energy, we are proud to have Italian and Swiss Organic Certification. We believe that the agriculture and the wine are culture, history, hope and patience, in a word, that the wine is life.

A project from father and daughter who started in 2007 with the focus on three indigenous vines: Nero d'Avola, Moscato and Grecanico. Beautiful natural wines and their newest addition: a lovely orange wine, the maximum expression of the white moscato grape. While father and daughter focus on the wines, mum makes the most beautiful jams and etiquettes. We can't wait to visit this lovely place!
