No. 104 | Distinguished Winery 1870
Nestled in the rolling hills of Piedmont, this exceptional villa was once a distinguished winery dating back to 1870. Thoughtfully restored by skilled local artisans in 2021, it now marries historic charm with modern comfort and sustainability. The result is a home that feels both grand and inviting, where every detail — from reclaimed oak beams to bespoke furniture — reflects careful attention and timeless style. From its elevated perch, the villa offers 360° views over the Montferrato hills and the distant Alps, creating a setting that feels utterly private yet perfectly connected to the region’s cultural treasures.
The Space
Spread across 480 m², the villa is a harmonious blend of old and new. Original features such as hand-painted ceilings, artisanal cement tiles, Carrara marble staircases, and sculpted doors sit alongside modern, high-quality furnishings. Seven elegant bedrooms and five bathrooms are complemented by two spacious living rooms, a large dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen designed for serious cooking and shared meals. Every corner of the villa has been crafted with care, with sustainable touches including solar panels and a heat pump that powers the house with minimal environmental impact.
The Rooms
Six of the seven bedrooms feature king-size beds, while the seventh offers a single bed, making the villa suitable for up to 13 guests. Bathrooms are sleek and modern, with rainfall showers, brass fixtures, and oak accents, one with an additional bathtub. Many furnishings have been carefully restored or handcrafted, preserving the villa’s historic Liberty-style character while ensuring 21st-century comfort.
Outdoor Area
Outside, the villa comes alive. A 10 × 4.5 m saltwater pool (1.5–2.5 m deep) invites long, lazy swims beneath the sun. Terraces and pergolas offer shaded lounges, while the outdoor kitchen, barbecue, and wood-fired pizza oven set the scene for effortless al fresco dining. A pétanque court, manicured gardens, and multiple seating areas allow for both shared moments and quiet reflection, all framed by the vineyards and mountains beyond.
Location
The villa sits at the heart of Piedmont’s wine country, surrounded by the region’s most celebrated vineyards. Nearby towns like Alba, Barolo, Asti, and Turin are all within reach, allowing guests to explore renowned wineries, charming villages, and cultural highlights before returning to their private retreat. The setting is serene and secluded, far from tourist crowds, yet ideally placed to enjoy the best of the region.
Additional Services
The villa is fully equipped for a comfortable stay: heating, air conditioning, and parking for 4–5 cars with an electric gate. Culinary enthusiasts will appreciate the professional-grade kitchen, stocked with everything from high-quality cookware and bakeware to wine fridges, pasta machines, and cookbooks. Sustainability is at the heart of the property, with solar panels powering electricity and water supplied via restored historic wells.
