No. 043 | Authentic Village Life
Tucked away in the heart of a quiet medieval village in the Ligurian hinterland, this village house has been lovingly restored by Sandra and Simon, an art director and an architect. What was once a decayed townhouse now gleams with new life, where reclaimed materials and the touch of local artisans preserve its authentic charm while seamlessly integrating modern comfort. Warm earth tones, wooden floors, and a restrained minimalist design create a sense of calm, making this home both inviting and timeless.
The Space
Spread over three floors, the house offers a generous 80m² of living space, striking a balance between shared conviviality and quiet corners. The interiors maintain a dialogue between old and new, where original stone walls meet contemporary furnishings, and sunlight pours in from every window. A small library invites leisurely reading, while the loggia and terraces offer glimpses of the surrounding olive groves and the distant sea.
The Rooms
On the ground floor, a double bedroom features a built-in lounge area and a nearby bathroom with a walk-in shower, sink, and toilet. The first floor is devoted to the heart of the home: a bespoke, hand-crafted kitchen with modern appliances opens onto a small garden — the perfect spot for morning coffee or a late afternoon aperitif. Upstairs, a second bedroom comfortably sleeps two, offering serene views over the village rooftops and the surrounding hills. A laundry room with washing machine ensures practical convenience, while one mobile air-conditioning unit and a fan provide relief during warmer months.
Outdoor Area
The garden is made for long leisurely meals and easy afternoons at the dining table, while the terrace basks in the sun throughout the day. Step outside and you can wander the village’s quiet streets or follow the paths through the olive groves, letting the hills and countryside unfold around you. It’s a place where shared moments feel natural, and quiet corners invite a little solitude whenever you need it.y.
Location
The village sits quietly among olive groves, its narrow streets and stone houses creating a sense of stillness and time slowed down. Life here is simple and unhurried, and just beyond the village, gentle hills and groves invite quiet walks. A short drive leads to the coast, where the beaches and promenades of Liguria stretch under the sun. Nearby towns and villages offer charming streets to wander, a café to linger in, or a glimpse of the local rhythm of life. From here, the coast, scenic villages, and even the French Riviera are all within reach for a leisurely day out.
Additional Services
While this house maintains a quiet, self-contained charm, it is fully equipped for a comfortable stay: heating for cooler months, laundry facilities, and a kitchen ready for cooking and dining together.
