N° 076 | Among the vineyards
Tucked into the rolling hills of Oltrepò Pavese, this beautifully restored 1920s farmhouse offers the kind of peace you didn’t know you needed. Once a working winery, the home has been lovingly transformed by its Dutch owners, Remco and Stephan, into an elegant retreat where understated luxury meets authentic rural charm. Their vision is clear: a place to slow down, soak up the natural beauty, and enjoy the good life—Italian style.
The villa is built for every season. Whether you’re gathering around the fireplace in winter or watching the sunset with a glass of local wine in hand come summer, this is a place to feel both connected and completely at ease. Sustainability and community are close to the owners’ hearts—they’ve even planted trees in the nearby village as a way to give back and green the land.
The Space
Spread across four levels and over 320 square meters, the villa is as generous as it is cozy. The layout allows for both privacy and togetherness, making it ideal for groups of up to ten. At its heart is a spacious kitchen and dining area with panoramic views across the vineyards—an inviting space where memories are made over long, laughter-filled meals.
You'll find original details throughout, from the old wine tanks repurposed into bedroom features to traditional stonework and vaulted ceilings. Thoughtful design touches, modern comforts, and carefully chosen decor create a home that feels both timeless and fresh.
The Bedrooms
There are five beautifully appointed double bedrooms, each with its own mood and story. Think soft linens, natural light, calming tones, and beds you’ll struggle to leave in the morning.
One room is set in the old wine cellar, with original tanks and vineyard views.
Another, at street level, features antique details and plenty of space.
Two upstairs bedrooms offer sweeping views and a calm, serene atmosphere.
The attic suite is a private sanctuary, complete with a bathtub by the window and a sense of being tucked away from the world.
The Outdoors
Step outside and you’re surrounded by vineyards, red earth, and endless sky. There are four terraces to choose from, each with its own feel—from a quiet corner for your morning coffee to a lively space for alfresco dinners, and lounge terraces with panoramic views
The recently built beautiful pool (3x8 meters) is perfect for a refreshing dip or lazy afternoons in the sun.
The Location
This part of Lombardy is a true hidden gem—often called the "Tuscany of the North" but far less crowded. The villa is perched just above the medieval village of Mornico Losana, with its narrow streets, stone houses, and castle that watches over the valley. You’ll find wineries, walking trails, and cycling routes all around you. And if you’re craving culture, charming towns like Pavia and even Milan are within easy reach.
What We Love
This is one of those rare places that feels like home in every season. In summer, you’ll want to live outside—breakfast on the terrace, a swim in the pool, sunset aperitivo overlooking the vineyards. Come winter, the mood shifts beautifully: fires crackling, long dinners inside, and the quiet magic of the surrounding hills.
We love the thoughtful restoration, where every stone and vaulted ceiling tells a story, and the way the house balances space and intimacy—perfect for gathering with friends or retreating with a book. It’s peaceful without being remote, rooted in nature yet close to culture, and shaped by owners who truly care about the land and local community. A soulful, slow-paced escape that draws you back again and again.
