Sometimes you feel like you step into a fairy tale, and entering this Villa is one of those moments. Organic winemakers and contemporary art collectors have transformed a 16th-century estate into a chic, glamorous, luxurious, and cozy villa. It's the perfect combination between a countryside home and an elegant residence.
Staying at this Villa is an experience in itself with seven stylish double bedrooms filled with antiques and unique items. Thirty-one hectares of vineyards, an exclusive privately owned sculpture garden (with art from o.a. Anish Kapoor, Banksy), one of the most beautiful wine cellars in the world, and a 13th-century tower are also included in the domain. A combination of nature, art, wine, luxury, style, and love for beauty.
The Villa is fully serviced by a team of staff, including a cook, cook’s assistant, and housekeeping. Staying here is total bliss!
The Space
Three adjoining elegant sitting rooms with fireplaces face onto a fourth living room with spectacularly large windows overlooking the garden and the Calanchi Valley. Each room has been decorated with the owner’s elegant style, mixing antiques and contemporary pieces that reflect the dolce vita and passion for the Italian countryside.
Seven elegant double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are filled with antiques and each is furnished beautifully with personal touches. The view from each bedroom is stunning to wake up to.

Wine
Paolo and Noemia d’Amico have pursued their passion for wine and have created an award-winning portfolio of 7 organic labels grown and produced in Umbria. Mainly using French grape varieties, the volcanic soil from the Calanchi Valley adds a new take on established variants. Once produced, the wines are stored to the sound of classical music in the cellar created by Noemia d’Amico and world-renowned architect Luca Brasini. Made from tufo rocks, the cellar carves its way underneath the hanging garden, via magnificent structural arches that create an enchanting pathway to the library. Adjoint a special room where tasting takes place, set amongst vintages from 30 years of Paolo e Noemia d’Amico wines.
Garden & Art
Over the past 35 years, domain owners Paolo and Noemia d’Amico have been collecting works by key artists from the contemporary world scene such as Anish Kapoor, Banksy, and Mitoraj. They are strategically spread among rose bushes, lemon trees, and cypresses in a game of hide and seek in the unique sculpture garden of the region. A very impressive outdoor art gallery.
Paolo and Noemia have also dedicated a special secret garden to their close friend, the British travel writer, and conservationist Mark Shand, with sculptures from his Elephant Family Association such as toucans, gorillas, and crocodiles. A very meaningful garden where nature, art, and love for beauty walk hand in hand.
Among the wide green spaces of the Villa, there is also a vegetable garden, the lifeblood that supplies the kitchens with high-quality produce. They grow classic vegetables such as tomatoes for sauces and salads, courgettes, peppers, aubergine, and cucumbers, along with more unusual and exotic varieties, to increase biodiversity.
Spa
It’s possible to request wellness therapists combined with detox food, massages, yoga, and fitness. A place of discrete elegance, calm, and contemplation, where guests can relax and recharge. There is also a sauna, steam bath, two swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), a tennis court, and a gym.

Breakfast: Breakfast buffet is served between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Note: Do not eat inside the bedroom. Room service only for coffee or croissant.
Light Lunch Buffet is served between 12:00 a.m. and 02:00 p.m This is almost always a buffet, with a delicious selection of Italian food.
Wine tasting: One-night wine tasting with dinner surrounded by candles and music.

Location
Immersed in the countryside, where Umbria and Lazio meet, with a breathtaking view of the Calanchi Valley. Only an hour and fifteen minutes from Rome an hour and a half from Florence and 10 minutes from Civita di Bagnoregio, a UNESCO world heritage site.
There is definitely magic in the canyons surrounding the Etruscan hill-top village of Civita di Bagnoregio, where, as the name suggests, kings came to take a bath in ancient times. Rediscover a light and slow way of traveling, exploring hidden places, which the Lazio region still offers. Be surprised by an unexpected and under-explored piece of the world and the friendliness of local inhabitants long thought disappeared. Reclaim time & reconnect.

Wine Cellar: classified as one of the most beautiful wine cellars in the world and a truly unique experience. The underground cellar is lit by hundreds of flickering candles while soft classical music is playing. At the end of the cellar is a stunning tasting room, with a fireplace and Chesterfield sofas. You can stay here all day and completely lose track of time and space. It's an alternate universe. There is also a dining room filled with vintage bottles and lit by candlelight.
Art Garden: A truly impressive art collection is set in the garden with works from world-renowned artists and I was stunned to also find artwork from one of my personal favorite artists: Anish Kapoor.
The Scenery: breathtaking scenery overlooking the Calanchi Valley, the landscape as ancient as the world.
Highest standards: Everything at the Villa has been created to the highest standard, from the interior design to the art collection and stunning wine cellar. Top quality!
