Innovative Italian Architecture & Breath-taking View

For decades this Italian family has been farming the lands around this beautiful area in Tuscany. On the top of the hill, overlooking the ancient village of Volterra and on the most beautiful spot on their land, was an old, dilapidated farm. The family knew one thing, this spot had to be shared and enjoyed by many. This was the beginning of an ambitious renovation project. A renovation that looks towards the future while respecting its rich past.

The barn was renovated, upgraded, and made into a luxurious space where you will find the living room with a fireplace filled with designer furniture as well as a kitchen equipped with state-of-the-art appliances.

The biggest challenge of the renovation came with the extension of the barn. Just adding replicas of the old structure would not have been authentic. StudioMilani Architecture took the bold choice of creating a modern structure adjacent to the main barn. They added two highly modern structures to it, creating an unusual, boundary-pushing design. This is especially true for Tuscany, where renovations are strictly controlled by numerous local and provincial rules and building regulations.

In one extension you will find three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The second extension houses the dining room, a gym, and a bathroom. The entire property is filled with contemporary designer furniture as well as a monthly changing art collection from local artists.

The location of the Villa is truly breathtaking which was the whole reason for starting this project in the first place. The villa overlooks the rolling hills of Tuscany and has a gorgeous view of the ancient villa of Volterra.  The infinity pool (7x14m) overlooks the valley and is surrounded by a lovely garden filled with olive trees.

There is a relaxed, outdoor sitting area and dining area with BBQ for outdoor grilling as well as a vegetable garden where guests can pick seasonal fresh fruit, herbs, and vegetables. Unique to this villa is the attention to detail, a sense of luxury, and comfort.

A dedicated team will be at your disposal 24 hours a day for any needs within the villa, as well as a daily cleaning and concierge service (included in the rental price).

There are three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with rain showers. Two bedrooms are located on the ground floor overlooking the lush garden and one bedroom - the suite - is on the second floor with a beautiful view of the garden and pool area

3 double bedrooms with private bathrooms

Location

The villa is located near the historical village of Volterra  The history of Volterra dates back to the 4th century B.C. when the Etruscans settled in the region. At that time it was one of the most important Etruscan cities and also belonged to the Twelve Cities League. Today you can still visit the archaeological sites and admire the remains of Etruscan art. Later the Romans settled in this historical city, whose Teatro Romano has become a famous attraction of Volterra.

Nowadays Volterra is also famous for vampires (thanks to Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series), its alabaster workshops, and white truffle festivals, one of the most important in Italy. Perched on the Val di Cecina’s hills, Volterra is one of the most scenic walled Tuscan towns.  It is a magical and atmospheric place.
