Nestled in the heart of Marseille, Jogging Jogging is far more than a boutique — it is a meeting point of fashion, art, and conviviality. Founded by Olivier Amsellem and Charlotte Brunet, two locals driven by a shared love of creativity and Marseille’s vibrant cultural life, the space hums with curiosity and craftsmanship. The shop occupies a former butcher’s, where hooks still hang and the worn walls quietly tell stories of the past — a perfect echo of the bold, playful collections on display.

Beyond the shop, a gallery space hosts rotating exhibitions and collaborations with artists from across disciplines. In summer, a pop-up restaurant takes over the shaded courtyard, offering local, fresh produce prepared with care and precision. Jogging Jogging also extends its ethos to hospitality, offering two quintessentially Marseille stays: Samena and the Le Corbusier Apartment.

Stay at The Jogging Le Corbusier

The Le Corbusier room at Jogging Jogging is a natural continuation of Olivier Amsellem’s vision, celebrating architecture — the first language of his creative life alongside photography. This space is devoted to admirers of the Cité Radieuse and lovers of modernist architecture, preserving the apartment’s original Type D layout as closely as possible within the Swiss architect’s workshop. Inside, furnishings, furniture, and design objects remain faithful to Le Corbusier’s vision, creating a living, breathing tribute to one of modern architecture’s greatest innovators.

The apartment also hosts artistic residencies, fostering dialogue between design and contemporary art — a practice integral to Jogging Jogging since its inception.

Le Corbusier & the Cité Radieuse

Le Corbusier (1887–1965), born Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, was a Swiss-French architect, urban planner, and visionary. He transformed the way we think about cities, homes, and the very act of living. His radical ideas — light-filled spaces, open plans, rooftop gardens, pilotis, and horizontal windows — redefined modern architecture, emphasizing functionality, beauty, and the human experience.

When the Cité Radieuse was completed in 1952, it was revolutionary. Post-war Marseille, like much of Europe, needed housing fast. But Le Corbusier imagined a “vertical village”:

A self-contained community: apartments, shops, offices, and a kindergarten all under one roof.

Bold use of concrete: exposed Béton Brut that was honest, modern, and unapologetically aesthetic.

Light and air: modular apartments designed for sunlight and ventilation.

Communal rooftop life: terraces became public squares in the sky.

At the time, it challenged the notion that housing had to mimic tradition. Instead, living could be efficient, beautiful, and even poetic. Today, Cité Radieuse remains magnetic — a living testament to modernist optimism, where architecture inspires, uplifts, and feels profoundly human.
