Right in the center of an isolated mountain village, Dosoledo, you'll find this charming old farmhouse that dates back to 1807. In this remote Camelico valley, one can discover off-the-beaten paths and the quiet daily life of the mountain villagers. Living history waits to be rediscovered alongside majestic nature and authentic people. This charming old farmhouse reflects all above.
The owners Gertrud and Markus have put their hearts in souls into the renovation of this old farmhouse. Running a restoration company in Bruneck, they know all about respecting the characteristics of the past, the house being part of the Dosoledo history and still being an important part of the village social life. ‘Patrimony’ is very important for the locals in the village, and for Gertrud and Markus, it was important to respect this.
Staying here will immediately make you part of the village, you don’t come here to be sightseeing, but to become part of village life: you’ll be going to the local tavern, bakery, and shops. For the time being, you’ll be part of this isolated mountain village, while exploring more of the South Tyrol area.
In winter it calls for reading books, taking baths, and of course, going on ski trips and other winter activities. Summer calls for picnics, hiking, and bike tours.
The space
The house consists of five beautiful bedrooms, all with their own luxurious bathroom attached. Each room has its own unmistakable character and is furnished with a large double bed made of Swiss pine, this in combination with the absolute quietude of the remote Dosoledo village are the major ingredients for a restful night's sleep. The bathroom consists of a shower and a free-standing bathtub, this will definitely draw you in for a soothing time-out after a day of exploring. Complete with ecological care products and fluffy towels, it turns every bathroom into an oasis of royal relaxation, embedded in historic rural architecture.
You'll find a very modern kitchen with everything you'll need and with a nice dining table. On the floor above there are multiple furniture sets, so everyone can cuddle up on their favorite couch. Throughout the whole house, you'll find unique pieces, with rich history and character, as well as modern and historic artworks that will catch your eye.
With its carefully selected interior, it re-interprets the charming pragmatism of a farmhouse, creating a very special atmosphere.
Location
The Camelico is a separate world apart, far away from the crowds. It is authentic and pure. But certainly worth to be discovered. It makes the perfect base for all kinds of activities such as hiking/biking or of course skiing in the winter, there are many slopes nearby, and the closest is only 10 minutes away.
