Little gem No. 052 | The sweet art of doing nothing
A Dream Built with Heart and Heritage
For Mia and Ivan, this unique place is more than just a farm stay—it’s the realization of a lifelong dream, shaped by unexpected turns and a deep-rooted connection to family and place.
Mia’s journey began with a desire to work in the social sector, which led her to Peru to support a community project. But life had different plans. After returning home, she took a job in hospitality to rebuild her savings and quickly discovered a passion for the industry. Gaining trust and responsibility early on, she found herself drawn to the idea of creating something of her own—a place where she could pour her heart into every detail.
The opportunity was already waiting for her. Decades earlier, her grandfather had fulfilled his own dream of owning a farm in Valeggio sul Mincio, a place deeply tied to his family’s past. Though originally from Bolzano, his mother had been from this region, and despite being forced to leave due to the war, her bond with the area never faded. The farm stayed in the family, passed down to Mia’s father, and eventually to her.
When the pandemic brought the world to a pause, Mia and Ivan had time to reflect. With such a beautiful place already in their hands, they asked themselves: Why not create something of our own?
Although Mia hadn’t grown up on the farm, visits to her grandparents had always been inspiring. Hospitality was in her blood—her maternal grandparents had deep ties to the industry, and her uncle was a renowned chef. Ivan, from Eppan in the Überetsch, was is her perfect partner in life and business. They met through mutual friends, and his practical mindset complemented her creative vision. With a background in project management, Ivan’s experience in organizing and executing projects became invaluable.
Together, they brought the old farm back to life—a place where guests can reconnect with nature, embrace a slower rhythm, and experience the charm of farm life with all the comforts of a boutique stay.
A Tranquil Retreat in Nature
Nestled among vineyards and rolling green hills, the farm offers an intimate and peaceful escape with just six suites, a steam sauna, a pool, and hidden relaxation spots. The farm’s two small lakes, shaded corners, and open meadows invite guests to unwind and embrace the art of dolce far niente—the sweetness of doing nothing.
Here, luxury is found in simplicity—natural materials, thoughtful design, and a warm, authentic atmosphere. It’s a place where guests can leave behind the noise of everyday life and step into a world of quiet beauty.
