Nestled in the heart of Marseille, Jogging Jogging is more than a boutique, it’s a meeting point of fashion, art, and conviviality. Founded by Olivier Amsellem and Charlotte Brunet, two locals with a shared passion for creativity and Marseille’s vibrant cultural life, the space feels alive with curiosity and craftsmanship. The shop itself occupies a former butcher’s, where the hooks still hang and the worn walls tell stories of the past, perfectly echoing the bold, playful collections on display.
Here, style is personal and thoughtful; Jacquemus, Yazbukey, Adieu Paris, Olympia Le-Tan, and other carefully curated labels rub shoulders with designer luminaires by Jean-Baptiste Fastrez. A gallery space rotates exhibitions and collaborations with artists from across disciplines, and in summer, a pop-up restaurant takes residence in the shaded courtyard, serving local, fresh produce prepared with precision and care. Jogging Jogging embodies Marseille: sophisticated yet relaxed, ethical, curious, and utterly human.
The Space: Samena
A short drive from the city, tucked in a quiet cove of Marseille, Samena is an intimate retreat that feels like an extension of Jogging Jogging’s spirit. Once an industrial site, then a ruin, Olivier Amsellem restored the property with a philosophy of humility: preserving the layers of history and working with the simple, honest materials already present.
The house is just 50 meters from the sea, and every corner invites you to pause and breathe. A large bedroom with a bathroom, a living room, a kitchen, two patios, a small swimming pool, and an outdoor shower make up the residence, each space designed to feel natural, unpretentious, and connected to the Mediterranean light. Samena also serves as a residence for artists, who develop and exhibit projects in dialogue with Jogging Jogging’s creative ethos.
Location
Samena sits in a quiet cove of Marseille, blending the city’s energy with the serenity of the sea. Mornings might begin with a swim, afternoons with a stroll along the coastline, and evenings with a slow, golden sunset shared on one of the patios.
