Perched on the sparkling coast of Alcamo Marina, midway between Alcamo and Castellammare del Golfo, Tonnara Foderà di Magazzinazzi is a historic tuna fishery that has quietly witnessed the rhythms of Sicilian life for over a century. Built in the early 20th century by brothers Leonardo and Vito Foderà, the tonnara was once one of the most important on Sicily’s western coast, second only to the renowned Egadi fisheries. Today, it is lovingly preserved by the descendants of the Foderà family, offering guests an intimate encounter with maritime heritage, architecture, and the slow, sensory rhythms of seaside life.

The Space

The estate retains its original character, blending the grand palazzina padronale, fishermens’ quarters, warehouses, and an observation tower that once guided the work of the fishery. Casa del Rais – A standalone house beside the main building, perfect for families or groups of up to six. It offers autonomy, space, and privacy while remaining part of the tonnara’s historic setting.

Top Floor of the Tower – Climb three flights of stairs to a dramatic panorama over the Gulf of Castellammare. A private kitchen completes the unique experience, though the bathroom is located on the floor below, preserving the tower’s historic integrity.

First Floor of the Tower – An intimate, historic stay with a small kitchenette and private bathroom. Ideal for guests seeking a blend of historic character and modern convenience.

Sea Side – Located on the main floor of the palazzina, these rooms are spacious, elegant, and enjoy direct sea views. Guests share access to a refined common living room.

Garden Side – Overlooking the property’s tranquil gardens, this accommodation offers quiet seclusion. Like Sea Side, the rooms are generous in size with private bathrooms, but no kitchen.
