Little Gem No. 084 | *Historic Tower House
Hidden in the heart of Nardò’s historic centre, Torre Piccola is a beautifully restored 12th-century tower that rises quietly above the rooftops. Once a simple watchtower, it has been transformed into a design-forward holiday home that balances authenticity with clean, modern lines. Vaulted ceilings, original stone, and soft light meet minimalist interiors and carefully chosen pieces — creating a space that feels both serene and soulful.
The house unfolds over several levels. On the ground floor, a fireplace warms the dining area and open kitchen, perfect for lingering over long meals. A filigree staircase leads to the sleeping gallery with a double bed, and a separate single room tucked beneath a vaulted ceiling. At the top, the showstopper: a spacious rooftop terrace spread over two levels, with views across terracotta rooftops and out to the Ionian horizon. Sun loungers, an outdoor grill, and a dining table make it a perfect spot for everything from breakfast to aperitivo under the stars.
This is a home designed for slow living — whether you're escaping for a romantic getaway or settling in for a working retreat. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the orange press in the kitchen to the quiet corners for reading or working. It’s a peaceful, light-filled retreat above a lively and authentic southern town.

Nardò & Surroundings
Nardò is one of Puglia’s best-kept secrets — a vibrant Baroque town just 6 km from the Ionian coast. In the evenings, locals gather in Piazza Salandra for aperitivo and conversation, as the golden light bounces off the stone facades. It’s lively but never too busy, and it remains deeply local year-round.
Nearby towns like Lecce, Gallipoli, and Otranto make for perfect day trips, while nature lovers will enjoy the trails and sea cliffs of Porto Selvaggio. Beaches, olive groves, fresh seafood, good wine, and a relaxed pace — Salento has everything you need for an Italian escape, without the crowds.
