Little Gem No. 075 | Small, Private, Individual

The Casale is a sanctuary far away from the noise, hectic city life, and every day worries. Situated between the historic villages of Cingoli and Jesi, 30 minutes from the sea and 30 minutes from the mountain hiking areas. During their travels, Nelly and her husband started to dream about opening up a temporary home for guests. Just as they enjoyed this experience themselves in many countries they visited over the years. The idea was to approach it similarly: Instead of a big hotel, a small, private, individual place with a lot of personality.  On top of that, they love this fairly unknown region - the Italian Marche - the landscape, the people, the culture and it gives them such great pleasure and they share this passion with their guests.  

​Their journey began in 2016 with the search for a suitable country estate in Italy. Then four adventurous years followed, which they would like to tell you more about over a glass of wine or two...

The Space 

Whether you’re planning a big family reunion, birthday celebration, yoga retreat, or just want to catch up with a group of old friends, this holiday home is the ideal location. The large garden, the dining room with a big and fully equipped kitchen, and the living room with library and fireplace. And of course, the saltwater pool (15x4.5 m) is all you need to have an amazing time in Italy and wonderful Marche.  

There are 4 large rooms (boxspring bed 1.80x2.00m) with ensuite bathrooms and 1 suite with two bedrooms (both with boxspring bed 1.80x2,00m)  and an open bathroom (6 rooms in total). 

The Bedrooms

It is a sanctuary for body and soul, where good sleep is at the top of the feel-good list. The beds are very comfortable, with cuddly toppers and the bed linen is Ecootex certified and is made by a local, small family business.  
 
Through the large windows and patio doors, the view wanders through the idyllic garden with its old olive, fig, and mulberry trees. Over the adjacent hills, your view goes as far as the mountains of the Monti Sibillini National Park. Muted colors and natural materials create an atmosphere of peace and relaxation.

The Surroundings

Le Marche is the region in Italy with the most cultural assets, there is so much to explore: The Marche forms a great open-air museum, with masterpieces by Piero della Francesca, Lorenzo Lotto, Raffaello, Carlo Crivelli, Peter Paul Rubens, Titian and many others. Not forgetting the ancient Roman roads and excavations, all testimony to a flourishing past.

Beach: The Riviera del Conero, just outside Ancona (40 minutes drive), is one of the most beautiful stretches of the Adriatic coast. In the regional park of the same name with dreamy bays, steep cliffs, and sheltered beaches, you can spend a wonderful day. 

Hiking: Two national parks (Monti Sibillini and Monti della Laga), four regional parks (Monte Conero, Sasso Simone and Simoncello, Monte San Bartolo, and the Rossa and Frasassi Gorges), and six nature reserves make the Marche a paradise for hikers and climbers.

Biking: From the cliffs of Monte Conero with the pretty towns of Sirolo and Numana to the gentle hills and wooded mountains with numerous national parks

Local Wine: The many small wineries around Jesi but also the ones in the Conero region are special. With heart and mind, excellent wine is produced here, which is still an insider tip.  

Truffle hunting: Take a stroll through the forest with a truffle hunter and his dogs and then enjoy a hearty truffle menu in the truffle hunter's house The mountains of Marche are a wonderful area for truffles.

Boat: hire a private motor or sailing boat, swim in the crystal clear waters of the secluded bays, and enjoy freshly caught seafood cooked for you on board. 

La dolce far niente: take your time to do nothing. Enjoy a long, late breakfast under the large pergola, pick out a book in the library, or spend the day on one of the comfortable loungers by the 15-metre pool.
