Venue No. 021 | 12th-Century Monastery

Italië > Umbria
users 50       rings-wedding handshake camera-retro

Hidden in a quiet Umbrian valley, surrounded by a centuries-old forest, this former 12th-century monastery has been reimagined into a retreat that feels both timeless and effortlessly elegant. With only twelve rooms and suites, it offers the intimacy of a private estate, yet with the depth of history in every stone wall and vaulted ceiling.

It’s hard to think of a more atmospheric place for a celebration. For centuries, these walls offered shelter and a sense of belonging; today, they create the perfect setting to bring people together again—whether for a wedding, a milestone, or simply a joyful gathering. There’s a rare mix here: authentic, humble, and deeply rooted in the land, yet with a refined touch that makes everything feel considered.

At the heart of the property is the restaurant, where Chef Lorenzo cooks with the seasons and the best of the Umbrian countryside. His menus are thoughtful, vegetable-led, and full of flavor, shaped in close collaboration with local producers. Dinners can be served indoors, outdoors in the garden, or in the conservatory, with its glass walls opening to nature—a magical setting when the sun sets and the lights begin to glow.

This isn’t a stage set; it’s a living place, where hospitality feels genuine and the surroundings invite celebration without effort. A shaded haven turned into a place of joy—quietly grand, and unforgettable when shared with the people who matter most.

What makes it so special

What makes it unforgettable is not only its history, but the feeling it gives. The 800-year-old monastery walls hold a quiet strength, yet the atmosphere is anything but heavy. There is lightness here—a harmony between old and new, between rooted tradition and modern elegance. It’s intimate enough to feel like your own, yet spacious enough to host moments of true grandeur. Above all, it’s the rare combination of authenticity and ease that makes celebrations here feel natural, unforced, and deeply memorable.
