Plinius LifeSyle | Ivo Angel Ceramics

The objects we choose to live with quietly shape the way we experience a place.

A handmade bowl filled with summer peaches. Linen softened by years of use. A ceramic plate carrying the traces of countless shared meals. These are the details that transform a house into a home, objects that become part of our everyday rituals and, over time, part of our memories.

The Plinius LifeStyle is our ongoing collection of makers, objects and rituals that embody a slower, more intentional way of living.

For this edition, we discovered Ivo Angel, a contemporary ceramics brand rooted in the landscapes and traditions of Tuscany.

A Table Worth Gathering Around

There is something deeply reassuring about a beautifully set table.

Not because it is perfect, but because it invites people to stay a little longer.

A breakfast that quietly stretches into late morning. A long lunch beneath an olive tree where conversation continues long after the plates have been cleared. An evening aperitivo shared with friends as the last light moves across the landscape.

These are the moments that stay with us long after a journey ends.

At Plinius, we have always believed that hospitality is found in the details: in the objects chosen with care, in the craftsmanship behind everyday things, and in the pieces that become part of the rhythm of a home rather than simply decorating it.

Discovering Ivo Angel

Our first encounter with Ivo Angel was not through a catalogue or a showroom, but through a small jewel-box shop tucked away in a small street in Cortona.

Walking through the door, surrounded by hand-finished ceramics, timeless forms and the quiet beauty of objects made slowly, we immediately understood the philosophy behind the brand.

Behind Ivo Angel is founder and creative director Jennifer Perez, whose journey into ceramics began after a career in luxury fashion retail. Drawn to the slower pace and beauty of Tuscan life, she created a collection inspired by the rituals that bring people together: seasonal cooking, shared tables and the simple pleasure of gathering.

Jennifer’s ceramics are deeply connected to their surroundings. Inspired by ancient Roman forms and Mediterranean heritage, historic shapes are reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. The result is a collection that feels both timeless and modern; pieces that could belong equally in a centuries-old Tuscan farmhouse or a contemporary home.

Each piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans across Tuscany and Umbria using traditional Italian ceramic techniques. Produced in small batches, every object carries subtle variations that celebrate the beauty of handmade craftsmanship.

Rather than seeking perfection, Ivo Angel embraces individuality.

Why We Chose Them

There are countless beautiful ceramic brands.

What makes Ivo Angel special is not only the craftsmanship, but the feeling the collection evokes.

The pieces invite use. They are not fragile objects to admire from a distance, but companions for everyday life.

At Plinius, we are inspired by places where life unfolds naturally around the table: the morning ritual of coffee, fresh fruit arranged on a handmade platter, a bottle of wine opened as the afternoon slowly turns into evening.

These are the moments we search for when discovering homes, villas and boutique stays around Italy and beyond.

Ivo Angel understands that beauty is not about creating a perfect image.

It is about creating an atmosphere.

Because the most memorable places are not styled.

They are lived in.

A Tuscan Table

When we gathered in Tuscany for a special Plinius lunch with editors, creatives and friends, we wanted the table to reflect the same philosophy that guides our work: thoughtful, authentic and connected to place.

We chose Ivo Angel ceramics to bring the setting to life.

Surrounded by the Tuscan landscape, seasonal food and conversations that continued long into the afternoon, the pieces became exactly what we believe good design should be; not decoration, but part of an experience.

The plates, bowls and serving pieces carried the warmth of the gathering, reminding us that the objects we choose become part of the stories we create around them.

The Philosophy

Ivo Angel is built around a simple idea: everyday objects deserve to be made beautifully.

The brand works exclusively with Italian artisans, preserving traditional ceramic techniques while creating designs with a contemporary sensibility.

Small-batch production, honest materials and timeless forms sit at the heart of every collection.

A philosophy that feels deeply aligned with Plinius:

Slow design.

Craftsmanship.

Objects created not for a season, but for a lifetime.
