A little something new from Plinius. 🇫🇷
We’ve been thinking about this one for quite a while.
Plinius is very much rooted in Italy. In the land, the food, the culture and, above all, our love of finding beautiful holiday homes, small hotels and B&Bs with something special about them.
We’re still a small team, so the question was: do we really want to take on another country?
But then we kept finding ourselves in France.
We were getting requests for places to stay, meeting wonderful owners and discovering little hotels and guesthouses we couldn’t stop thinking about. And, of course, we already spend quite a lot of time here and know the country well.
So, in one way, France felt like an obvious choice.
In another, we kept asking ourselves: do we have the time?
Because if we do something, we want to do it properly. Slowly, thoughtfully and with the same level of care we bring to Italy.
And so, we’ve finally decided to do it — but we’re starting small.
Today, we’re launching our new Plinius Little Gems: France collection, beginning in the South of France and growing at a leisurely pace as we discover more.
The holiday villas will follow later this year.
For now, we’re simply very excited to share this new chapter with you.
Bienvenue, France!
A few of our French Little Gems
To start, we’ve picked a small selection of places we already love: from a fisherman’s cabanon to beautifully designed hotels and guesthouses, each with its own story and sense of place.
These are just the first few. We’ll be adding new Little Gems every week, as we continue to discover more.

The French Edit
Alongside the Little Gems, we’re also launching The French Edit: a weekly journal of the places, people, food and stories that catch our eye along the way, created in collaboration with @centifolia_provence.
Over the next few months, we’ll be travelling from Menton to Marseille, following our curiosity and looking for the places worth knowing: where to eat, stay, visit and discover.
