Truffel hunting
Nico was born and raised in Montisi and knows the area as the back of his hand. Nico is very knowledgeable and passionate about truffle hunting, a skill he learned from his grandfather and hopes to pass on to his own children. His family has been in the business for many generations and the beauty is that Nico will take you on a truffle hunt on the family's own private estate.
There are a lot of truffles around the Trequanda area and nearby San Giovanni d’Asso hosts a wonderful truffle festival in November each year. In Trequanda you can go truffle hunting throughout the year, hunting for black truffles in the summer months, and white truffles in the winter. Personally, I love to go in autumn, when the forest turns a thousand different colors, the sun is still shining but the temperature is cooler. There are 4 different options Nico has on offer.

- Truffle hunt & Cooking course at Tuscan Chef Little Kitchen
- Truffle hunt & Truffle lunch/ dinner at the Barrino in Montisi.
Nico works together with Tuscan Chef Alessandro Piccinini and offers the unique opportunity to go white truffle hunting followed by a cookery course. There are a lot of truffles around the Trequanda area and nearby San Giovanni d’Asso hosts a wonderful truffle festival in November each year. You can go truffle hunting throughout the year, hunting for black truffles in the summer months, and white truffles in the winter. In summer it takes place in the early morning and in other seasons you can also go in the afternoon because of the cooler temperature.
