N° 007 | Peace and panoramic views
Contemporary architecture in rolling hills near Padua
A contemporary home in the rolling Eaganean Hills of Northern Italy ran by a German couple Ulla and Eberhard. It is close to Padova (15 min), Vicenza (30 min), and less than one hour from Venice, making it the perfect starting place to discover the best of the Veneto while enjoying the peace and panoramic views of the Monte Rosso. Designed and built with enormous care and sensitivity for its surroundings, it brings architecture and nature together, creating an ideal and charming setting to relax body and soul!
The space
Natural materials and high-tech solutions were combined to create an environmentally friendly house, in which interior and exterior merge. The heart of the building is the amazing living room with huge panoramic corner windows, which can be opened completely, bringing nature close. In Summer the living literally flows over in the spacious front terrace and the dining area becomes a covered outdoor space. A perfect place for a nice dinner, as the living also consists of a large kitchen with the coolest homemade ceramics. For less sunny days, there is also a cozy fireplace, making it also the perfect home to spend autumn and winter days. Even more, there is a spa area in the basement, complete with a sauna and steam bath (we told you this was the perfect place to relax) and a wine cellar. And the biggest surprise in the basement is the enormous pottery studio of Ulla! Ulla makes the most amazing ceramics and she hosts hands-on courses for the guests of the B&B too!
The house has three guest rooms, all in their own color, connecting to the views outside. Each room has its own bathroom and even a built-in Bluetooth speaker set.
Outside is a large garden with many fruit trees from which guest can pick their own fruits and a vegetable garden. The garden offers several quiet corners to relax and hide away with your book.
The surroundings
We think that this is the ideal base for discovering the beautiful province of Veneto. Located in the scenic Colli Euganei, the hills have not just stunning views but also castles, abbeys, villas, vineyards, and thermal baths. Next to the beautiful scenery, it makes the perfect base to discover all the cities nearby: Padova, Venice, Verona, Padova, and Mantova. You will definitely not be bored. Italy keeps on surprising us, because each of the cities mentioned above, is so worth a visit, from stunning architecture to exceptional frescos. Except for beautiful cultural cities and nature, it's also a must-visit for foodies. There are many amazing Michelin and non-Michelin star restaurants, as well as good wineries nearby. See all in our Veneto guide.
